Civilizations become more colorful through exchanges and richer through mutual learning. Although China and Latin America are far apart, we have joined hands across the mountains and seas, sharing a common aspiration for a bright future. Looking back into history, ancient trade exchanges initiated the initial contact between our civilizations. In the present, in the face of global development challenges such as unfairness, incompleteness, and lack of inclusiveness, as well as environmental crises like climate change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem degradation, China and Latin America have been working hand in hand. Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and with the promotion of mechanisms like BRICS and the China-Latin America Forum, we have continuously expanded cooperation areas and deepened cooperation levels and contents. Fully responding to the development demands of Latin America and respecting its development will, China has launched development projects, cultural projects, people-to-people projects, unity projects, and peace projects, empowering the growth and development of Latin America, especially green growth and development, promoting mutual learning between Chinese and Latin American civilizations, and enhancing people-to-people bonds. This has opened up a brand-new future for China and Latin America to jointly build a community with a shared future. At a time of major changes unseen in a century, China and Latin America need to join hands to jointly address global environmental and development challenges, inherit and carry forward traditional cultures, and innovate new forms of civilization. This symposium, with the theme of "China-Latin America Green Future and Mutual Learning of Civilizations", focuses on important topics such as sustainable development, ecological civilization, agricultural trade and forest protection under the background of climate change, and green economy and energy transition. It aims to further promote organized, interdisciplinary scientific research that integrates Chinese data science and AI technology, continue to deepen mutual learning between Chinese and Latin American civilizations, and promote green development to contribute to sustainable
development.
